MgA. Martina Stecherová


She was born in Ceske Budejovice (the Czech Republic). Has been singing and playing the piano since her early childhood. Martina studied opera singing at the Conservatory of Ceske Budejovice and the Conservatory of G. Verdi in Milan, Italy. As a postgraduante she continued at the Conservatory in Brescia, Italy and then spent a year at Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She´s been collecting theatre experience since her studies in Budejovice, her debut took place on the stage of Jihoceske divadlo (Theatre of South Bohemia) in the opera by H. Purcello, Dido and Aeneas. She´s been a member of the baroque ensemble “Capella Accademica”, which performs several operas by G. F. Händel in various theatres all over the Czech Republic and participates in the festival “Prazske jaro“ (Prague Spring). Currently she is having concerts with orchestras all over Italy as well as with the Artist Council chamber music. Her wide repertoire ranges from the music of the Middle Ages to temporary music, focusing considerably on music by W. A. Mozart. Lately she has been working on the interpretation of Gregorian chant, she is a stable soloist of Ensemble San Felice from Florence, performing concerts throughout Europe. Apart from her artistic activity, she is also involved in pedagogy of singing, works as a singing consultant and organizes music labs aimed at non-musicians.
